There are two ways to advance and archive candidates who are in the Application Review stage: bulk application review and reviewing via the candidate's profile. This guide covers how to use either option to move candidates through your pipeline.

Individual and bulk appliation review are available on all Ashby plans.

You must have Elevated Access - Hiring Manager privileges or higher on the job to review applications.

Our bulk application review page allows you to review all candidates in the Application Review stage, either across all jobs or for any given job. Candidate review allows you to review one-off candidates by navigating to their candidate profiles, leaving feedback, and archiving or advancing the candidate accordingly.

When there are hundreds of applications to review for a single job posting, it's important to be able to do so efficiently. Use our bulk application review feature to quickly organize, annotate, and take action on many applications at once.

You can navigate to the bulk application review page by heading to Jobs > Jobs > Candidate Pipeline, then clicking Application Review above the stages in your active pipeline.

To review applications across all jobs in bulk, head to the Candidate Pipeline, then select the Application Review stage of the pipeline.

On the Application Review page, you see a list of applicants to review. Review them in bulk by clicking the Review X Applications button.

2) Role they have applied for

7) The option to specify the order in which applications are reviewed, either starting with the newest application or the oldest.

9) Advance: Advance the candidate to the next stage.

10) Custom Next Steps…: Take additional custom action on the application, including rejecting the candidate but adding them to a project, transferring the candidate to be considered for another role, or emailing the candidate.

11) Reject: Reject the candidate — you must select a rejection reason before rejecting them.

12) Enable Rejection Email: Slide the toggle on to set up a rejection email — you can also set this email to be scheduled to go out after a specific amount of time has passed. You're prompted to select an email template, a from address, and determine whether the email should be scheduled or sent immediately.

14) Tags: Add tags to the candidate's profile. Read more at TagsTags.

When you want to review and advance or archive an individual candidate, you can do so from their candidate profile.

Yes! If a candidate has applied for multiple roles, you're able to see their other applications in bulk application review. You can also view all jobs the candidate is being considered for in the Considered For Jobs section on their profile.

The default feedback form is used for feedback at the Application Review stage. To change the feedback form, this needs to be done for each job or job template. Navigate to Jobs > Jobs and select the job in question. Then head to the Interview Plan tab. Click Modify on the Review Application activity on the interview plan.

Click Change Link to switch the feedback form out for another shared feedback form you have configured, or click Unlink & Edit to make specific edits to that form. Any changes made to an unlinked form only apply to that specific activity and do not have an impact on the default feedback form.

Needs Decision means there's a structured activity in the stage (for example, a custom review application activity) and action is required, while In Stage Since is when a candidate is in a stage that doesn't have a structured activity, so a call to action isn't required.

If you are using the default review application activity in the Application Review stage of your interview plan, this is not seen as a structured activity. If you opt to add a custom review application activity, this is seen as a structured activity.

When reviewing candidates in bulk application review, Ashby shows the resume attached to the application if one exists.

If both the candidate profile and the application have a resume, bulk application review displays the application resume.

If the resume on the candidate profile is more current, you see a See Latest Resume option. Clicking See Latest Resume takes you to the candidate profile so you can review the newer file there.
