Form Field Connectors

to a candidate field and click the link icon from there, you will be prompted to either select an existing field to connect to this question, or create a new custom field you can use the search bar to find the exact field you’re looking for if you already have a lot of custom fields in place to select an existing field, click on it within the choose an existing field to connect list click into and amend the title and description fields and then click create and connect custom field to create a new field for your question to be linked to once you’ve selected or created your field, the connected path will be confirmed you will have the option to disconnect the link or switch the field the application question field is mapped to once the link is established, we will also pull any applications completed before this link was configured and offer to backfill them click backfill now to complete the backfill process linking a referral form field to a candidate field head to admin > sourcing > https //app ashbyhq com/admin/organizational settings/referral forms , then click on your referral form click the link icon underneath the field you’d like to link to a candidate field from there, select the field on the candidate’s profile you’d like to map this question’s answer to, either by selecting from the list of existing candidate fields, or by creating a new custom field once you’ve selected or created your new field, you will then have the option to backfill previously referred candidates and pull the information added initially to the matching candidate field on their profile linking a survey or questionnaire field to a field on the candidate profile head to admin> jobs & applications> https //app ashbyhq com/admin/organizational settings/surveys/diversity surveys from there, go to either the candidate experience tab or the questionnaires tab and select the survey and field you’d like to map to a candidate field click the link icon and then select the existing field you’d like to map the candidate’s answer to if the field doesn’t already exist, you can create your own new custom field to map this information to once you’ve selected or created your field, the connected path will be confirmed you will have the option to disconnect the link or switch the field the application question field is mapped to once the link is established, we will also pull any applications completed before this link was configured and offer to backfill them click backfill now to complete the backfill process linking a sourcing form field to a candidate profile field head to sourcing> https //app ashbyhq com/sourcing/forms/all from there, select the sourcing form you’d like to edit, then head to settings, then configure form click the link icon and then select the existing field you’d like to map the candidate’s answer to if the field doesn’t already exist, you can create your own new custom field to map this information to once you’ve selected or created your field, the connected path will be confirmed you will have the option to disconnect the link or switch the field the application question field is mapped to once the link is established, we will also pull any applications completed before this link was configured and offer to backfill them click backfill now to complete the backfill process if that option is available linking a feedback form field to a candidate custom field head to admin > interviews & scheduling > https //app ashbyhq com/admin/interview/feedback forms and select the form you’d like to amend scroll to the question you’d like to connect to a candidate custom field and click the link icon from there, you will be prompted to either select an existing field to connect to this feedback field, or create a new custom field you can use the search bar to find the exact custom field you’re looking for if you already have a lot of custom fields in place and need to find the best match to select an existing field, click on it within the choose an existing field to connect list alternatively, click into and amend the title and description fields and then click create and connect custom field to create a new field for your question to be linked to once you’ve selected or created your field, the connected path will be confirmed you will have the option to disconnect the link or switch the field the feedback form field is mapped to once the link is established, we will also pull any feedback forms completed before this link was configured and offer to backfill the connected field click backfill now to complete the backfill process the latest value added to this field within the feedback form will overwrite the value that was previously in the candidate’s custom field the only exception to this is if you are connecting a phone number field to the any phone number field in this case, the backfilled phone number will be added to the list under other phone numbers on the candidate’s profile please note that the latest value added to a feedback form field linked to a candidate custom field will overwrite any previous values as such, if you have two interviewers completing the same feedback form for an interview, if one interviewer submits a value in the connected field with their feedback at 1pm, then the second interviewer submits a value within the connected feedback form field again at 1 30pm on the same day, the value submitted at 1 30pm will overwrite the value added at 1pm and will be displayed within the candidate custom field unsupported field types for feedback form connectors please note that it’s not possible to connect the following field types using feedback form field connectors candidate custom field types you will be unable to link feedback form fields to the following candidate custom field types long unformatted answer feedback form field types the following feedback form field types are not supported when connecting fields to a candidate custom field score location long formatted answer there is also limited support for phone number fields they can only be connected to the following fields the phone number (primary, personal) field the value would then replace the existing number listed in this field on the candidate profile the any phone number field the value would then be added to the other phone numbers field on the candidate’s profile pulling candidate information through to interviewers with limited access if you have information being mapped to custom fields that you’d like interviewers to see before an interview regardless of their specified here will then be shown to your panel within their interview briefing faq h ow does this work with multiple answer question fields with answers that differ from the form’s range of answers? in the case that you are backfilling a multiple choice or checkboxes field, you’ll also get the opportunity to map any options on previous versions of the form to the new connected field this allows you to backfill the previous forms, even when the connect field’s options don’t line up perfectly with the previous submissions you’ll also be able to map all other choices to a specific value how does linking forms to fields impact reporting? instead of reporting on a specific form field, you can report on that specific candidate field directly, streamlining your reporting process what happens if a candidate submits two forms, both of which have questions connected to the same field? the most recent submission will override the previous ones how can i view the forms that are connected to a specific field? if you navigate to admin > organization setup > custom fields, then click on the field in question, you’ll be able to view the form fields the custom field is connected to
