Lever Transfers

lever does not allow opportunities to be transferred from one posting to another in order to consider an opportunity for another job posting, a new opportunity must be created and added to the new posting we will refer to this as transferring throughout this article to counteract the impact this will have on reporting, we would recommend creating an archive reason specifically for transfers (ie transferred to another job or considered for another job) this is easiest way for us to filter out duplicative data transferring opportunities earlier in the process to get as much of the data as possible on one opportunity be aware that the following data points will be lost in the transfer sourced by user (and opportunity owner) can now only be the user who added the opportunity to the new job posting this usually leads to inaccurate reporting on sourcing interviews that occurred in the previous job will still exist in reporting but will not be tied to the new opportunity time spent in stages will only be linked to their respective opportunities if an opportunity is incorrectly placed in a stage and then immediately moved to another stage, this will skew the time spent in that stage lower impacted commonly used reports passthrough rate reports passthrough rate tables report on a group of opportunities’ journeys through the stages/ stage groups since it is tracking each opportunity, a candidate that is transferred to a new job will be counted for both the old req and the new req, and will be considered not passing the stage in which they were transferred from for this reason, we recommend filtering out by archive reason time to hire or time to offer these might be inaccurate since the opportunity start date will be the transfer occurred, which usually doesn’t line up with the application date when a transfer occurs, users are given the option to set a different application date ( https //help lever co/hc/en us/articles/360000088643 why do application dates matter ) users can also edit the application date after the fact as well our recommendation is to update the application date on the new opportunity time in process in order to keep these reports as accurate as possible, users must ensure opportunities are being added to the proper stage in the new requisition since the duration of each opportunity is accurate, you do not need to filter any data out no change is recommended here archive reason or conversion rate reports because ending an opportunity’s consideration on the older requisition will appear to be an archive or rejection, transfers may skew your archive reason and conversion rate data we would recommend filtering out by archive reason general reporting remember for future reports that a candidate that was transferred will have multiple opportunities and multiple consideration end dates when building reports, consider if you want transfers to count as 1 or 1 per opportunity some situation where you may want to consider filtering out transfers by archive reason reports that reports on an opportunity’s consideration end date, archive date, etc… reports selecting by archive reasons
