**Prerequisites:**

Organization Admins can enable AI features and Talent Rediscovery. Organization Admins and Elevated Access users with Admin or Admin Private access can create a Talent Rediscovery query for the roles they have this access to.

AI Talent Rediscovery uses AI Credits. One AI credit is used per returned candidate with a cap of 250 credits used for any single search. AI credits are not used if the search does not return candidates.

For more on AI credits, check out [AI Credits](docId:7q8kJ16iBGcP9zSJx86Xm). Want to buy more credits? Check out [How do I purchase additional email lookups, AI credits or texting credits in-app?](docId\:eDqZ9Zv9vdCLJyzsXjDHE)
:::

# Step 1: Enabling Talent Rediscovery

:::hint{type="info"}
If you have `Auto-enable new features` toggled on for your organization, you can skip the steps below.
:::

To enable Talent Rediscovery:

1. Navigate to **Admin > Organization Setup > Opt-in Features**.
2. If you have not yet opted in to AI Features, toggle on `Enable AI Features`. You will be prompted to read and agree to Ashby's AI terms before any AI features can be enabled.
3. Toggle on the `Talent Rediscovery` opt-in feature.

 ![The opt-in features page in Admin. The Talent Rediscovery opt-in option is highlighted.](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/0p8tQ--ZZOxRtkVp6Qr-e/ztGI_ZwbZ9LRk7LcHn14y_opt-in-features-acent-ashby-2026-04-23-at-105801-am.jpg)

 :::hint{type="warning"}
 If you see a **Not ready** message when enabling Talent Rediscovery, click `Start Candidate Scan` to scan your candidate pool. The scan can take up to 24 hours.

 :::
4. Click `Configure` to select a default sequence template. This sequence template is automatically used when sending a sequence as part of reviewing candidates in the Talent Rediscovery review UI.

# Step 2: Running a Talent Rediscovery search

There are two ways to run a search using Talent Rediscovery: using existing criteria set up within a job, or setting up a new query from scratch.

To run a Talent Rediscovery search using criteria configured as part of the [AI-Assisted Application Review](docId:0msgWzHFexBtWOAgFyRAr) tool:

1. Navigate to **Jobs > Jobs** and click on the role in question.
2. Click **AI Features**, then `Edit`.

 ![The AI Features tab in a job. The Edit button within the AI-Assisted Application Review section is highlighted.](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/0p8tQ--ZZOxRtkVp6Qr-e/Kn-epCUv7Vwa4N6Fgt13s_customer-support-specialist-acent-ashby-2026-04-30-at-93354-am.jpg)
3. In the popover, toggle on `Enable Rediscovery`, then click `Save`.

To start a new search using Talent Rediscovery:

1. Navigate to **Sourcing > Talent Rediscovery**.
2. Click `+ New Search`.

3. Add a title to your query. You can also link a job to your query so you can directly consider candidates who meet your set criteria for the role. Finally, determine whether the query is confidential.

 :::hint{type="info"}
 A confidential query is only visible to the users who are given access to it.

4. Click `Create Search` to confirm. You are then taken to the `Settings` section of your newly created search.

# Step 3: Adding AI job criteria to your sourcing query

To make amendments to your sourcing query, navigate to the `Settings` tab of your search in **Sourcing > Talent Rediscovery**.

**Name:** The title of your search.

**Description:** An internal description for your search, for reference.

**Confidential:** Set whether the query is confidential.

**Job:** Add, remove, or switch the job linked to this search.

Underneath your settings, the **AI Job Criteria** section lists any criteria for your Talent Rediscovery search. To add or update criteria, click `+ Edit Job Criteria` or `Setup Criteria`.

# Step 4: Reviewing your sourcing query results

Once the evaluation of your configured criteria is complete, you can review results in the **Candidate Search Results** section of your sourcing query.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/0p8tQ--ZZOxRtkVp6Qr-e/VGD6q0RvROZKlzn-_Ua5p_image.png)

Click on a list option to view the candidates that have been identified. Each list has the following criteria:

**All Candidates:** All candidates who meet the criteria.

**Warm Lead:** Candidates who expressed interest (for example, via a sourcing form or hiring event) but never interviewed.

**Silver Medallist:** Candidates who were archived after an active interview stage with only positive feedback and match 50%+ of your set criteria.

**High-Fit Candidates:** Candidates who match 75%+ of your set criteria, reached an active stage, and received no poor interview feedback.

**Re-Visit Overlooked Candidates:** Candidates who match 75%+ of your set criteria but only reached pre-interview screen stages.

**Promising Leads to Re-Engage:** Candidates who match 50%+ of your criteria, progressed past pre-interview stages, and remained interested.

**Internal Transfers:** Candidates who were hired for a different role and who the AI identifies as suitable for this role. They also match 50%+ of your set criteria.

The Review Later and Dismissed lists are curated by you, based on the action taken when reviewing suggested candidates. We recommend reviewing your buckets from the top down (All Candidates first, Silver Medallist second, and so on).

## Reviewing candidates

When viewing a list of identified candidates, you can see the following information by default:

- **Name**
- **Company/Position:** The candidate's employment history, listing their most recent company and role first.
- **Evaluation:** Lists the AI job criteria set in your sourcing query and notes whether each was met.
- **Feedback:** Feedback left for the candidate.
- **Latest touchpoint:** The last job and interview stage the candidate was in.
- **Signals:** The general criteria used by the AI Talent Rediscovery tool alongside the AI job criteria. Positive signals are displayed here.

:::hint{type="info" indent="1"}
The signals used are as follows:

- **Positive signals** (listed in the Signals section of the query results): Warm Lead, Silver Medalist, Made It To Offer Stage, Bad Timing, Rejected by Candidate, Only Good Feedback, Hired for Different Role
- **Negative signals** (causing candidates to be filtered out by default): Recently Rejected (last 6 months), Poor Fit, Poor Interview Performance, Candidate Ghosted, AI Job Criteria Met Percentage \< 51%.

Signals combine application history, interview ratings, email thread analysis, and AI classification.
:::

- **Visibility:** The option to hide or show the candidate on the list.

To review the candidate list, click `Review X Candidates`. You can then view the criteria evaluation, the candidate's resume and application details, and their feedback.

![The review page for a candidate pulled into a group using a talent rediscovery search.](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/0p8tQ--ZZOxRtkVp6Qr-e/2i6ZC-6a0-MjAn-OL2JNa_high-selling-ae-acent-ashby-2026-04-24-at-93848-am.jpg)

In the **Criteria Evaluation** section, click on a criterion to view the information pulled from the candidate's resume or application to justify the classification.

:::hint{type="info"}
If a classification doesn't look right, click the three dots to the right of `Meets X of X` and select `Flag Evaluation` to leave feedback.

![The option to flag a criteria evaluation.](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/0p8tQ--ZZOxRtkVp6Qr-e/TbVKN0pFR9j0E_nCYnRVL_high-selling-ae-acent-ashby-2026-04-24-at-95146-am.jpg)
:::

Once you've reviewed the candidate, you can take the following actions:

- **Consider for Job:** Consider the candidate for the linked job. Click the pencil icon to adjust the job and initial interview stage the candidate is added to.
- **Add to Project:** Click the pencil icon to set the project, then click `Add` to add the candidate to a project.
- **Send Sequence:** Enroll the candidate in a sequence. The default sequence used is the one configured during Talent Rediscovery enablement. More on this in[Step 1: Enabling Talent Rediscovery](docId\:d-gjG_O-jKBQagm_KsMZe).

:::hint{type="info" indent="1"}
When creating a sequence, you can add an **aiReEngagementOutreach** substitution token to an email sequence stage. When sending a rediscovery sequence, AI automatically considers the candidate's background, resume, previous applications, interview history, and past communications to generate a personalized outreach message.

Prior to sending the sequence, you need to manually accept or reject the generated content.
:::

- **Mark not a good fit:** Move the candidate to the Dismissed list.
- **Add to Review Later:** Move the candidate to the Review Later list.

You can also click the **AI Assistant** tab to ask the [AI Candidate Assistant](docId\:gfXoUwYWswcWHeJ65OD8S) any questions as needed.

# FAQ

### Are candidates in projects evaluated by the Talent Rediscovery tool?

Candidates who are in projects may appear in sourcing query results if they’re a fit for the open role. Talent Rediscovery does not specifically search for candidates by project membership by default.
